We received a mini grant from Alex Wilson Legacy fund to fly Faisal Zedan here from the Bay Area. It was such a treat to have him join us -- he really enjoyed meeting our Colorado musicians and dancers. He played two weekends of the Colorado Renaissance Festival, an out reach concert at Project Worthmore, an art gallery concert, and a concert at Columbine Conference Center. We also had two workshops with our front range percussionists and two private lessons. We did a chaotic but fun gig at the Amman Hookah Lounge with local oud player Mustafa Kammar, as well as recorded a session with Nabin and me at FTM studio. Wow! Really maximized the grant!
